The Commercial Association of Realtors of New Mexico (CARNM) held their annual “Intersections” event on Thursday 25 October 2018 at the Sandia Casino. This event included speakers Dr. Glenn Mueller speaking on national commercial real estate trends, and Julie Benezet – former Director of Real Estate for Amazon. Debra Fine spoke on the “Fine” Art of building Business Relationships One Conversation at a time, and Amy Korte, Principal of Arrowstreet spoke to the effect of driverless cars on future land values. NAI Global President and CEO Jay Olshansky was the luncheon speaker.
But the real news occurred at the end of the luncheon; when CARNM announced the winners of their CCIM Deals of the Year – 10 properties nominated for those awards. They announced the CCIM Deal of the Year – under $1 million; and the CCIM Deal of the Year – over $1 million. A substantial buzz was generated when CARNM announced, for the first time ever, their CCIM Mega Deal of the Year. The 2018 Mega Deal of the Year was won by NAI 1st Valley Principal’s Randy McMillan and Jake Redfearn. The deal was the sale of 5 class A self-storage facilities for an undisclosed price well into eight figures. Two new trophies have taken their place in our conference room – and well deserved they are!
When the Seller of the Self-Storage Facilities learned of the awards; he sent a message stating: “These awards are well deserved for you two guys. Thanks again or getting the deal done. Anyone can list a property; but putting the actual sale together is where you shine. Thank you!”
Additionally, the Buyer also stated: “Congratulations again to Randy and your group. Super professional, friendly, and fun to work with. The transaction had a lot of moving parts but it all came together smoothly with the help of Randy and your group.
We are grateful for the confidence of our clients and the respect of our peers.
